Server Control Console

Option 1 Ranked Server
When enabled this will connect the server
to our database so players stats and high scores can be saved onto our
website.
Option 2 Game mode
The
Game Mode allows setting of the next game type. Generally, this will
remain in ‘co-op’ mode for the majority of the content.
The overall objective is
to attain the highest team score possible, which can be placed on a
World High Score table. This mode is designed to reward players for
playing truly cooperatively and lets them enjoy the action and scenes of
the entire Half-Life 2 game with game-play suitable for beginners and
experienced players.
Players can also select ‘racing’ mode
for a novel twist on the co-op scenario.
This
mode pits the players against each other and the combine in a kill fest
race, where the players race to get to the end of the level, killing as
many NPCs as possible. The winner gets a big
bonus
for completing the level in 1st place. This mode
adds great replay value and a completely new style of game-play which
the more experienced “LEET” players will love, as it opens new
strategies and problems for the players to master. The overall objective
of racing mode is to attain the highest individual score for the
Chapter, while ensuring that no one else comes close! Friendly-fire is
on, so players can gang-up on NPCs when required, and then shoot their
team mates in the back when the time comes.
Option 3 Story Mode
This option changes the way the game
progresses from chapter to chapter. When story mode is on players are
taken directly from one chapter to the next as in the single player
game. This preserves the game balance of the original single player
experience and gives the players a greater sense of immersion in the
game world. When you turn story mode off, after a chapter is completed
players return to the ReadyRoom to vote on which chapter they wish to
play next and visit the shop to spend their hard earned points on
goodies for the next mission.

Option 4 Elimination mode
Elimination Mode is generally set to ‘on’ as a default. This indicates
that, during play, if a player dies they are put into Spectator Mode for
the remainder of the level, returning to normal play at the beginning of
the next level. In this mode, any player connecting to the server when
a level has already begun will be sent to Spectator Mode, and all
current players are informed that this player will join the game at the
beginning of the next level.
Option 5 Friendly Fire
Good old friendly fire always provides a greater
challenge to players, and makes for some fun times.
Option 6 Difficulty level
The Difficulty Level can be set from 0
(easy) to 9 (hard), with the default being set at 4, which is the
natural setting at which Half-Life
2 was originally played. This feature combined with the elimination mode
make Follow freeman versatile enough to offer game-play that will
challenge player’s of all skill levels and experience. It also offers an
incentive to replay the content with the difficulty increased.

Voting Zone Control
Players can vote for any included
content within Follow Freeman. This is simply a matter of a player
entering the teleporter of their chosen game. Once all votes have been
cast, the game with the most votes becomes the destination for the
players.

Area configuration is applied on the
second panel in the Administration area. Each of the areas, Half-Life
2, Mods and BattleZones can be closed off to players in the ReadyRoom.
In this way, server administrators can create, for example, a dedicated
BattleZone server by closing off access to the Half-Life
2 and Mod areas of the ReadyRoom.
Voting Zones
– Valve Zone
The central section of the voting
areas, this provides access to the Valve single player content converted
to co-op. Currently, this provides access to Half-Life 2 but has
facility for forthcoming content from HL 2, Ep 1, HL 2: Ep 2, and any
subsequent releases.

In this area we have the
14 doors to the 14 chapters of “the greatest game ever made!”

Voting Zones
– Mod Zone
This area of the ReadyRoom allows
access to each of the single-player conversions that have been included
in Follow Freeman Beta 2. Six doorways lead to voting teleporters for
each of the modifications.

With the Beta 2 release we
have added 6 mods, totalling a huge 69 playable maps in this area alone.
More details on these are given in the content guide section
Voting Zones
– Battle Zone
This area of the ReadyRoom gives
players access to the BattleZone maps included in Follow Freeman Beta
2. Again, six doorways lead to voting teleporters for each of the
BattleZones.

This is our new
experimental (with the emphasis heavily on MENTAL) type of map where
anything goes. Featuring team and co-op battles between combine and/or
rebels, with hordes of NPCs. Maps may be objective based or pure arcade
style action. Battle zone is a mappers dream come true, with the full
power of every feature of the engine at your disposal in multiplayer
co-op.
